1/26/2023 5 Comments Bumped from the RutSo, it's been a year. Ok. Maybe it's been a few years. Things have been weird, intense, way way outside the realm of the usual and truly kinda tough.
Perhaps I understate things? Last weekend my hubby took me away for a long weekend. We recently decided that snowshoeing would be something cool to do. We were absolutely correct - but that is another story. We went to Colorado, to Rocky Mountain National Park. There truly are no descriptive words that do that majestic part of this world justice. But truly....talk about perspective. We all exist in our own world of joys and trials and day to day....well, stuff. I know from my own experience and listening to decades of clients experiences that our day to day stuff can just drown us and get us stuck in places where we can't even function. A change in perspective - this weekend gave me a BIG change in perspective. Different air, activity, temperature, sights and heights! It is the change in perspective that bumps us out of the stuck. That allows just a bit of breathing room for new ideas, for a reprieve... for a chance to come at things from just a little different mindset. It doesn't have to be a big trip. It may not even need to be a burst of nature (although if asked I would encourage that method). Being immersed in something different for just a little while. Or a long while. Enough to be jostled from the one sticky place you've been. During the trip it felt like every direction I turned was scenic. Astounding. I stood by almost every stream and just stared. Something about the water making its way under the snow and ice. Over the rocks and branches. The sound. The motion. The water just making its way. Relaxing. Reassuring. Inspiring. Couldn't package much from this trip - but this - I brought a little back so I could jump in again when I needed it. Headphones and a video loop my friends. :-) I have been bumped. I feel different. Like I can breathe a little better, see a little more. What will bump you from the rut? Where can you get lost a while? A book? A trail? A recipe? A meditation? A great reflexology session or massage? (<-- of course!! who could leave that out. lol) I would truly love to hear what helps you move forward. And if you don't know what moves you I send you all the good juju to find it. Be Well. Be Happy. Be Here.
