Declaring Our Independence

Picture
With the 4th of July around the corner we’ve got independence on our minds.

Just a tad over 200 years ago a bunch of scrappy colonists gave the boot--and probably a few other gestures--to King George. And just a just a few blocks away, at Liberty Hall, stands a replica of the Liberty Bell, which the citizens of Quakertown helped to keep safe during the Revolutionary War.

From this we learn two things:

First, don’t mess with Quakertown.

And second, freedom is possible anywhere, if you declare it and take action.

At Complete Wellness, we’re using the month of July to focus on freedom, and asking ourselves the question, what am I ready to declare my independence from?

Maybe it’s a nutritional habit that doesn’t serve our well-being. Maybe it’s the tendency to put our own self-care on the back burner. Maybe it’s a limiting belief that’s holding us back from being as happy and healthy as we can be,

Whatever it is, overthrowing it has got to be at least as doable as defying the might of the British Empire.

This July, we invite you to join us in an exploration of freedom, and a declaration of independence from whatever is keeping us from the fullest expression of our sovereign right to be ourselves, free, happy, and well.

The gateway to summer

Picture

“June is the gateway to summer.” --Jean Hershey

OK, so maybe this year June feels more like the floodgate-way to summer, but gateway it is, and at Complete Wellness, a

gateway is an invitation to do one of our favorite things: make a grand and bold and celebratory declaration!

So without further ado, we are declaring 2019 to be the Summer of You. Each month, we’ll focus on a theme to help make the

season a time of joy, reclamation, reconnection, and happy discovery.

And of course, it all starts with wellness. In fact, June is the perfect month to debunk a common wellness-related myth about

that quintessential summer theme: vacations. (SPOILER ALERT: we’re about to turn yet another commonly held belief on its

head and present an alternative that actually supports wellness.)

Our culture focuses on vacation as a single event that is meant to restore your well-being after a year of ignoring the needs

of body and soul in the frenetic pursuit of Working to Achieve Goals. No wonder we’re experiencing skyrocketing rates of

burnout!

We’re kicking off the Summer of You with a June theme that offers a different path--and a different result--by declaring that

Wellness is a State of Mind & Body.

Now don’t get us wrong, we think vacations are awesome! But we also think that wellness isn’t something you have to put off

to a once a year event or something you have to travel to. Wellness is a state of mind and body, and it’s only as far away as a

new thought or action.

This June, we invite you to join us in an exploration and celebration of all the ways we can embrace new thoughts and

actions to incorporate wellness into our everyday lives, right here, right now. Welcome, Summer!
